What is Vanadis?
Vanadis is the non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) for all women which gives an answer as regards the most common chromosomal abnormalities.
It is a rapid and risk-free screening test which, by analysing the foetal DNA in maternal blood, identifies the risk of trisomy of chromosome 21 (Down’s syndrome), chromosome 18 (Edwards syndrome) and chromosome 13 (Patau syndrome).
It is carried out with a normal maternal blood collection from the 10th week of gestation.
Who can take the test?
Vanadis can be requested by all pregnant women; it helps to minimise parental anxiety and avoid the risks associated with invasive diagnostic procedures.
The test is suitable for women of any age and risk category in the event of:
- Single pregnancies
- Twin pregnancies
- Medically-Assisted Reproduction
Which test should you choose?
Vanadis technology ensuresa precise, targeted analysis of the chromosomes of interest, thus allowing for a reduction in test costs.
The Vanadis screening test is CE-IVD certified.
The Vanadis Test assesses the foetal risk for trisomy 21, trisomy 18 and trisomy 13, and lets parents know the sex of the unborn child.
The Vanadis Plus version includes the biochemical test of free beta-hCG and PAPP-A and Vanadis Advanced includes the predictive test for pre-eclampsia, which can be carried out from the 20th week of pregnancy if there are risk factors.
